Vol. 212 No. 6

Written Answers. - Drainage Workers' Earnings.

39.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each centre where a bonus scheme is in operation for arterial drainage (a) the average number employed at the commencement of the scheme and at subsequent three-monthly intervals, (b) the basic weekly wage as at each date, and (c) the average bonus earnings per hour for each week over the same period.

Following is the information:—

(a) —see statement attached;

(b) —see statement attached;

(c) —The average bonus earnings on the Broadmeadow, Inny and Moy Arterial drainage schemes expressed as percentages of basic earnings are as follows :—

1. Broadmeadow Drainage Scheme

27.5%

2. Inny Drainage Scheme

22.4%

3. Moy Drainage Scheme

26.2%

The calculation of the average bonus earnings per hour for each week would be a very big task and it would not be possible to complete it in the time available.

Average Number employed at :
