Vol. 212 No. 6

Written Answers. - Building Dispute: Unemployment Assistance and Benefit Claims.

49.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number, or estimated number, of claims for unemployment benefit or unemployment assistance made by persons in the Dublin District who were affected by the Dublin building trade dispute during the first ten weeks of the dispute; and the number of claims admitted and refused under the following heads: (1) week number, (2) number of claims made, (3) number of claims admitted, and (4) number of claims refused.

50.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will give particulars of unemployment benefit and unemployment assistance paid or refused to applicants in the Dublin District affected by the first ten weeks of the building trade dispute who were (a) building trade craftsmen and (b) other insured persons.

The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available from the records maintained in my Department. Compilation of the particulars sought would be a considerable task which I do not propose to have undertaken.
