Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Heifer Subsidy Scheme.

63.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state in regard to the calved heifer subsidy scheme the number of individuals to whom payment of grants of (a) over £750, (b) £300 to £750, (c) £75 to £300 and (d) £15 to £75 has been sanctioned from the inception of the scheme to date; and the total amounts sanctioned for payment of grants in each of the categories (a), (b), (c) and (d) above.

The number of individuals in each category up to 30th October was (a) 7, (b) 93, (c) 2,823 and (d) 54,664. The amount sanctioned for payment in each category was (a) £8,505, (b) £44,760, (c) £366,220 and (d) £1,393,355.

64.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the amount paid out in County Mayo under the heifer subsidy scheme up to 30th October last.

The amount paid was £80,940.

65.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the total amount paid out to date in County Cavan under the heifer subsidy scheme.

The total amount paid is £105,060.

66.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is his intention to continue the heifer scheme for the year 1965.
