Vol. 213 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Crumlin (Dublin) Swimming Pool.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position regarding the provision of a swimming pool at the Willie Pearse Memorial Park, Crumlin, Dublin.

The lay-out of the proposed swimming pool has been approved for some time. The acceptance of tenders for the supply of water treatment plant and low pressure water boilers has been recently approved. I understand from Dublin Corporation that the preparation of contract documents and working drawings is nearing completion.

Is the Minister's Department seeking repayment of the capital sum for this swimming pool on the annuity system or on the direct system, by instalments? In other words, is it seeking repayment in half-yearly annuities for 30 years of equal amounts or in 60 half-yearly instalments of principal, plus interest in each case?

I do not know that we are insisting on either of these methods.

Does the Minister mind which method is used for the repayment in respect of the swimming pool?

I am not prepared to answer that question without having considered it.
