Vol. 214 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fenit (Kerry) Sewerage Scheme.

31.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that over ten years ago Kerry County Council erected a group scheme of houses at Fenit, Tralee, County Kerry; that these houses were erected as fully serviced houses but there was then no piped water supply available to them; and that some time ago a piped water supply was provided in the area but that these houses could not be connected to it because there was no sewerage scheme in the area, with the result that the houses are in reality still unserviced; and if he will take steps to ensure that a sewerage scheme is provided by the County Council in this locality without further delay.

I understand that the position is as stated by the Deputy. Contract documents for the installation of a sewerage scheme were approved by my Department on 1st January last. I understand that arrangements are being made for the invitation of tenders for the sewerage scheme.
