Vol. 214 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - ESB Special Service Charge.

14.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the number of householders in County Cavan who are obliged to pay a special service charge for ESB current; and the total special service charge applicable annually.

15.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the number of consumers of electricity in County Meath who are paying a special service charge; the average amount of the special service charge being paid: the number of applicants awaiting the service in County Meath; and the average amount of the special service charge required from them.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 14 and 15 together.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the information sought by Deputy O'Reilly and Deputy Farrelly is not readily available. The Board do not maintain records of their consumers on a county basis or keep separate records of those paying special service charges and accordingly the extraction of the data necessary to provide a full answer would involve much time and trouble. If the Deputies communicate direct with the Board, however, the Board will endeavour to provide as much information as possible.
