Vol. 214 No. 10

Committee on Finance. - Estimates, 1965-66: Issue out of Central Fund.

I move:

That towards making good the supply granted for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1966, the sum of £905,000 be granted out of the Central Fund.

This is the item we have been just dealing with—a Vote which was appropriated. I am now asking for authority to withdraw the amount from the Central Fund.

This is what I had in mind as being necessary to cover the main Estimate which has been approved. Surely this is a new procedure?

I do not think so.

It is new. We never dealt with a main Estimate in this way before.

Yes, the Deputy is quite right. It never happened before, but it could have happened.

For an amateur Minister for Finance, we are not doing too badly!

Question put and agreed to.
Resolution reported and agreed to.
