Vol. 215 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Bus Stops.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that bus stops in Dublin city are in several cases situated in close proximity to road junctions, making it necessary in some cases for buses to cross lines of traffic sharply in order to make a right-hand turn; and that many stops are situated on bends or within thirty feet of a road junction; and, if so, if he will ensure that the Traffic Consultative Committee will review these bus stops in the interest of greater road safety.

I am not aware that the siting of bus stops generally is as unsatisfactory as the Deputy's question suggests. I am, however, having the matter examined further.
