Vol. 215 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Widening of Stillorgan Road.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of a reply of 29th May, 1958, he can now state what proposals there are regarding the widening of the section of the Stillorgan road from Donnybrook to Belfield, Dublin which had been under consideration at that time for a considerable period; and whether this road widening is likely to proceed in the near future.

Dublin Corporation submitted a compulsory purchase order to my Department on the 8th March, 1965, for the acquisition of lands required to enable them to carry out a road-widening scheme on the section referred to by the Deputy. A number of objections to the order have been received, and it is hoped to make arrangements shortly for the holding of a public local inquiry as to the propriety of confirming the order. In the circumstances it is not possible to indicate when the scheme may proceed.
