Vol. 215 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary-Waterford Garda Stations.

33.

asked the Minister for Justice what Garda stations in South Tipperary and West Waterford are at present scheduled for replacement, reconstruction and repair; and if he will state in each case when he expects that this work will be completed.

In South Tipperary the stations of Ardfinnan, Ballingarry South, Cappa-white, Emly, Fethard and Kilsheelan are scheduled for replacement and in West Waterford the stations of Aglish, Ardmore, Ballyduff, Cappagh, Cappoquin and Lismore are scheduled for replacement.

Work is in progress on the erection of a new station at Fethard and it is expected to be completed later this year. Sites have been acquired for new stations at Ardmore and Emly. It is hoped to invite tenders for the work at Ardmore shortly and to have it completed next year. Tenders for the work at Emly will probably be invited in 1966 and the station completed in 1967.

Major schemes of improvements are expected to be commenced within the coming year at the stations at Bansha, Killenaule and Shevry in South Tipperary and at Kill and Leamybrien in West Waterford. Repairs and minor improvement works will be carried out as required at other stations.
