Vol. 215 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tax Concessions to Industrial Workers.

1.

asked the Minister for Finance if, having regard to the importance of Ireland's export drive and to the fact that export firms are given tax concessions, he can give further encouragement to the export drive by extending tax concessions on a trial basis to the workers employed in these industries.

I regret that I cannot see my way to adopt the proposals suggested by the Deputy.

Further to the Parliamentary Secretary's reply as it is considered an incentive in modern management to offer concessions, would he not consider extending these tax concessions?

That question would more appropriately be addressed to the Minister.
