Vol. 215 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Drainage Machinery.

56.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will request the Dairy Disposal Company (a) to provide drainage machinery on hire for the farmers and smallholders of the Dingle peninsula to help them to avail of the reclamation grants provided by his Department, and (b) to extend such a service to South Kerry.

The company has been examining the question of providing drainage machinery for use in the Annascaul pilot area which is in the Dingle peninsula, and hopes to be able to introduce such a service. The extension of similar facilities to other parts of South Kerry would be determined in the light of the experience gained in the pilot area.
