Vol. 215 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Water and Sewerage System.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government if any proposals have reached his Department from Laois County Council regarding the council's intention to extend the existing water and sewerage system at Portarlington to serve a large number of workers' houses at Droughill.

Proposals for the extension of Portarlington sewerage schemes to serve county council cottages at Droughill, submitted to my Department in November, 1964, were referred back to the local authority for further technical information. I understand that this information will be submitted shortly. I am also informed that there is a water supply already available for those cottages and that, in fact, some of the cottages are already connected to it.
