Vol. 215 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - CIE Pension Scheme.

5.

(Dublin South Central) asked the Minister for Transport and Power what progress has been made by the Commission on the CIE pension scheme.

I am informed by CIE that the recommendations of the Commission on CIE Pensions and Sickness Benefit Payments in relation to a definitive pension scheme for CIE wages grade staff are at present being examined in the light of actuarial reports obtained by the Board.

As the Deputy is no doubt aware, I have already confirmed amending pension schemes to give effect to the recommendations of the Commission for interim increases in pensions of such staff.
