Vol. 215 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exchange of Irish Currency.

6.

asked the Minister for Finance if, as so many travellers to Britain experience considerable difficulties with the exchange of Irish currency, he will take measures to resolve this problem.

As Irish currency is not legal tender outside this country, travellers to Britain or any other country should provide themselves with their requirements of the appropriate foreign currency before their departure if they wish to avoid exchange difficulties. I may add that there is no evidence that considerable difficulties are experienced by Irish travellers to Britain in exchanging Irish currency.
