Vol. 216 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co-operative Farming Groups.

35.

asked the Minister for Agriculture (a) the number of co-operative farming groups functioning at present, (b) the number of members in each group, (c) the type of farming activities engaged in by them, and (d) who was responsible for organising each group.

I presume that the question refers to co-operative societies formed expressly for the purpose of farming a number of holdings as a unit. I am informed that only one such society has been registered by the IAOS and that this society has not yet commenced operations.
