Vol. 216 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Filling Station.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government is he aware of the objection of the residents at Goats-town, County Dublin to the proposed erection of a garage and filling station at the corner of Taney Road, Goats-town; and whether permission has been granted for such a garage and filling station.

Permission for the development in question was refused by the planning authority in November, 1962. An appeal against that decision was received by me and on the 31st December, 1963, having fully considered the case, I made an order granting permission for the development. In connection with the appeal I received representations on behalf of local residents who objected to the proposed development but I did not consider that the objections were such as would justify a refusal of permission on planning grounds.

Has the Minister's attention been directed to the fact that there is an adjoining filling station?

I am aware that there is a second one in the locality.
