Vol. 216 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Well Boring Operations.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government what the conditions are regarding sanction by his Department for the carrying out of well bores by local authorities.

Local authorities have been advised that they should aim at providing piped water supplies to all populated areas in their districts, where such is practicable at reasonable cost, but that where it is not practicable to do this, water should be provided by such means as well bores, provided again that the cost is reasonable.
