Vol. 216 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Adaptation Plans.

22.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what steps he has taken to see that the present credit squeeze will not hinder or delay the implementation of adaptation plans by individual firms in preparation for conditions of freer trade.

I have no reason to believe that the temporary moderation in the rate of expansion of credit is inhibiting the adaptation plans of individual firms in preparation for freer trade. I may say that there has been no change in the policy of An Foras Tionscal or the Industrial Credit Company Ltd. in regard to the provision of special grants or loans for adaptation.
