I agree that the maximum amounts payable under the statutory provision in question are inadequate.
As I mentioned in reply to a question on 18th May, I have in mind to promote legislation to enlarge the general jurisdiction of the District Court and Circuit Court. The legislation will provide for an appropriate increase in these amounts.
I hope to be in a position to introduce this legislation after the summer recess.
