(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will list the bodies in the State under the aegis of his Department which are entitled to issue grants direct, stating the type of grant in each case.

The following bodies under the aegis of my Department are entitled to make grants: (1) County committees of agriculture for agricultural education and development purposes; (2) An Foras Talúntais to assist agricultural research; (3) The Irish National Stud Company Limited for the development of horse breeding; (4) Bord na gCon for the development of greyhound racing and coursing; (5) An Bord Iascaigh Mhara for fishery development purposes; (6) Inland Fisheries Trust for the development of inland fisheries.

In addition, An Bord Bainne and the Pigs and Bacon Commission have certain powers to assist financially or otherwise projects designed to promote improved marketing.
