Vol. 217 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Glanmire (Cork) TV Reception.

27.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the television signal is so weak in the district of Glanmire, County Cork as to render reception ineffective; and if he will take steps to remedy this.

I understand that the district of Glanmire is well served generally in the matter of transmissions from the transposer at Crosshaven. It is necessary, however, that aerials and sets in this district should be adjusted to receive transmissions from the Crosshaven transposer.

Could the Minister say when we can expect this adjustment?

The adjustment to which I referred has to do with television sets in the area. The original transposer was at Mullaghanish and it is possible that some of the Glanmire set owners have not had their sets rotated away from that transposer. They should re-orientate their aerials to the Ballinaluska transposer or perhaps have their sets adjusted to take Channel G.
