Dublin Corporation have at present eight schemes for the housing of elderly persons at various stages of completion or planning at Infirmary Road, Dorset Street Upper, Richmond Road, Fassaugh Avenue, Beaumont, Broombridge Road, Malahide Road and Brookwood Avenue. They are also providing in various schemes approximately 1,050 one and two-roomed flats which are regarded as suitable for the accommodation of elderly persons. Since the passing of the Housing (Loans and Grants) Act, 1962, grants amounting to £62,700 have been allocated to six approved bodies for the provision of 209 dwelling units for elderly persons in the Dublin area. Four other proposals are being formulated.
