Vol. 217 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Development of South Dublin Estate.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received representations from the residents of Brewery Road and Brewery Estate, Stillorgan, Dublin, objecting to the proposed development on the Brewery Estate, adjacent to Galloping Green; and if, in view of the objections by the residents he will ensure that no developments contrary to the interests of the residents will be allowed.

An appeal was made to me by the residents concerned against the decision of Dublin County Council to grant permission for the erection of four shops and a licensed premises in the area but, as it was not received within the prescribed time, I was not empowered to accept it.

Was sanction given to the proposal?

Apparently, the application was made and permission was granted, I think, some time in May. The appeal from these residents did not come to the notice of my office until 8th July, which was outside the time within which I could accept it.
