Vol. 217 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Lobsters.

69.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will inquire into the reason for the drop in prices from 10/6 to 4/6 per lb. for lobsters in view of the fact that the early season prices still obtain on the London and Paris markets.

There is always some decline in prices as the season advances and supplies increase but the information at my disposal does not indicate that there has been a drop in prices being paid for lobsters this season of the order stated by the Deputy. In fact, it appears that fishermen generally have not been dissatisfied with the prices paid this season.
