Vol. 217 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Housing.

15.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of cases of mixed adult families sleeping in one room at present on Dublin Corporation housing list; and if he considers that cases of this kind should be given priority.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of sub-tenants in Dublin Corporation houses which are tenanted by cases of active tuberculosis.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 15 and 16 together.

The information requested in regard to the number of sub-tenants in corporation houses which are tenanted by cases of active tuberculosis is not available. I have asked the corporation to supply the other information requested by the Deputy and I will send it to the Deputy when I receive it. On the question of letting priorities, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his question of 14th instant on the subject. The regulations referred to in that reply which prescribe the preferences to be given, wherever practicable, to different classes of applicants, provide an early preference for persons with a family living in a one-roomed dwelling where one or more than one member of the family, exclusive of the parents, has attained the age of 12 years.
