Vol. 217 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extradition Warrants.

43.

asked the Minister for Justice if Part III of the Extradition Bill, in so far as it relates to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, will provide for execution of warrants only in relation to crimes or offences alleged to have been committed on or after the date of the coming into operation of the Bill.

In accordance with subsection (2) of section 3 of the Extradition Bill, 1965, which has been passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas, the provisions of Part III apply to the execution of warrants from the places to which it relates, including those mentioned by the Deputy, whether the offences were committed or alleged to have been committed before or after the passing of the Act.
