asked the Taoiseach what are the chief branches of economic activity included in the "other domestic" sector of employment shown in Table 2, paragraph 27 of the Second Programme for Economic Expansion; and if he will state for the latest date for which figures are available the number of persons at work in each such branch.
The principal branches of economic activity included in the heading referred to by the Deputy are; commerce, insurance, banking, finance, transport, communication, storage, public administration and defence, professions (including religion), personal service, entertainment and sport. While estimates are made independently for a number of these sectors, it is not considered that the reliability of the figures is adequate to warrant official publication of each of them. Estimates of the numbers at work in four main groups are, however, published in Table 15 of Economic Statistics. The figures for April, 1964, are
