With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the estimated amounts required in the years specified to purchase the same quantum of goods and services at retail prices as would £1 at mid-May, 1965. The estimates are based on the retail price index numbers which are calculated in respect of mid-February, mid-May, mid-August, and mid-November each year.
Following is the statement:—
