Vol. 217 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballymun Dwellings

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the National Building Agency will hand over completed dwellings at Ballymun to the Dublin Corporation for allocation to persons on the housing list; and the total number of such dwellings.

The provisional construction programme of the consortium, which is under examination, provides for a completion rate of 22 houses per month. In the case of flats, the first dwellings are scheduled for completion in April, 1966, and the programme provides for a total of 697 completions in that year, 956 in 1967, and 916 in 1968. It may not be possible to allow immediate occupancy, following completion of individual dwellings, in view of the necessity for ensuring the safety of children while the contractors have access with their plant to the site.
