Vol. 217 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Group Water Scheme Grants.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider giving an increased grant for group water schemes in pilot areas.

No increase in the scales of grants for group water schemes is contemplated at present.

I am interested only in pilot schemes.

The reply is still the same.

(Cavan): Would the Minister take steps to speed up investigation by his Department of group water schemes as some of them seem to be taking over 12 months to get through?

That is a separate question.

I am doing the best I can. Deputies will appreciate that not in all cases is the delay caused by my officials. There are many other things which cause delay in these group schemes.

The Minister could not even get a list for me a couple of weeks ago.

The work is being done.

(Interruptions.)

Order. Question No. 39.
