asked the Minister for Lands what is the total area under forestry in County Roscommon; what area his Department have in their possession there with a view to further afforestation; and where this land is situated.

The total area of land held by the Forestry Division of my Department in County Roscommon is 9,163 acres, of which 8,517 acres are productive. A total of 7,111 acres is under woods and plantations and there is a plantable reserve of 1,406 acres distributed as follows: Ballinlough forest, 260 acres; Ballyfarnon forest, 236 acres; Boyle forest, 838 acres and Strokestown forest, 72 acres.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the total area under forestry in County Leitrim; what area his Department have in their possession there with a view to further afforestation; and where this land is situated.

The total area of land held by the Forestry Division of my Department in County Leitrim is 17,864 acres of which 14,921 acres are productive. A total of 12,015 acres is under woods and plantations and there is a plantable reserve of 2,906 acres distributed as follows: Cuilcagh forest, 993 acres; Dromahaire forest, 336 acres; Drumkeeran forest, 1,091 acres; Glenfarne forest, 413 acres and Manor-hamilton forest, 73 acres.
