When the Companies Act, 1963, was enacted, the regulations relating to the management of companies limited by shares were simultaneously enacted in both the Irish and English languages to facilitate companies adopting Memoranda and Articles of Association in Irish. All the material in the two Tables, that is to say Tábla A and Table A had, therefore, to be set out in both languages. Legal advice was taken in the matter and the precedent set by the Hotel Proprietors Act, 1963, was followed.
In the light of the foregoing, no question of extra unnecessary cost to the State arises.

Is the Minister aware that my reference was to the fact that there are two Irish versions of Table A? There are two Irish versions, on pages 364 and 365, which are the same thing, and on page 366 there is something in Irish and exactly the same in Irish on page 367. I think the Minister has misunderstood the question.

If the Minister has a copy of the Act, he will find that this is so.
The Irish version in each case corresponds with the English version which is written into the Act or a Schedule.

The Irish version corresponds with the Irish version only. There are two Irish versions included in the Act.
I want to assure the Deputy that this was done in accordance with legal advice taken at the time, and I want to give him this further assurance that no unnecessary cost, certainly no significant extra cost, was involved for the State, even if it was unnecessary, in setting up type for a second page.
