Vol. 218 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin County Council Loan.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that Dublin County Council on 13th September, 1965, passed the necessary resolution to raise a loan of £500,000 for the purposes of providing housing loans; and when this loan was sanctioned.

Dublin County Council applied on 17th September last for approval to the raising of a loan of £500,000 for house purchase. The application is being dealt with in the normal way, and the council have been asked to supply the necessary detailed information to enable it to be examined.

In other words, I take it the position is the Minister is applying slowing tactics in this in accordance with his general principle in regard to credit.

I am trying to perform a normal function such as this spending and laying out of £500,000.

In the words of Deputy Corry, "he hasn't a bob."
