Vol. 218 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Servants in State and Semi-State Bodies.

85.

Mr. Barrett

asked the Minister for Lands if he will give details of the number of civil servants in his Department who hold posts in State or semi-State bodies, companies or corporations which have been assisted by the State, details of the remuneration of each such person by virtue of his Civil Service post and details of the remuneration or allowances accruing to such officials by virtue of other positions with the bodies in question.

In so far as my Department is concerned, the number of such officials is two. One has a remuneration of £3,109 and receives £200 per annum as joint managing director of Arramara Teoranta. The other is seconded on a full time basis to act as manager of the Inland Fisheries Trust which refunds his salary, namely, £2,156 and pension contribution: he has no extra remuneration from the Trust.

In addition, the Chief Examiner of Title in the Land Commission, whose salary is £3,520 per annum, acts as part-time Registrar to the Labour Court for which he receives an allowance of £296 per annum.
