asked the Minister for Finance what cases are outstanding concerning claims in respect of remuneration payable to recruitment clerical grades in the State Service or State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will give details in each case.

No claim of the type mentioned in the question is outstanding in the State Service. Details in regard to the second part of the question are set out in a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.

Employment

Details of claim

Agricultural Credit Corporation, Ltd.

Claim for parity with the new scale for the recruitment grade in the Electricity Supply Board, i.e. an increase from £402-1176 a year to £440-1385 a year.

Cómhlucht Siúicre Éireann, Teo.

Claim for an adjustment of pay. The present scale for the recruitment grade is £410-952 a year.

The Racing Board

To review the salary scales with a view to restoring them to their former position in line with the scales in other clerical occupations. The present scale for the recruitment grade is £420-1,140 a year.

Can the Minister state what attitude is to be adopted on these claims?

As I indicated in my original statement, wage claims awaiting hearing by the Civil Service Arbitration Board at present will go ahead.
