Vol. 218 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Granting of Loan Permission.

19.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government whether loan permission has been granted to any other local authority since the date it was refused to Cashel Local Authority.

The Deputy's suggestion that a loan has been refused to Cashel Urban District Council is incorrect. The remainder of the question does not therefore arise.

Sanction may have been given but has permission to sign a contract been given or has it been specifically refused?

That is an entirely different question.

That is exactly what you are doing in every local authority.

I was asked whether loan permission had been granted to any other local authority since the date it was refused to Cashel. It has not been refused to Cashel.

You told them they could have the loan but they have not got the money.

They could not give them what they have not got.
