Vol. 218 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clones UDC Loan.

42.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to sanction (a) the loan for the sewerage scheme and (b) the loan for the erection of 14 houses, for which the Clones Urban District Council have sought sanction.

Clones Urban District Council's application for a sewerage improvement scheme loan is at present under consideration. I am not in a position at present to say when sanction will be accorded to the loan.

I have received no application from the council for sanction to a loan in respect of the erection of houses.

Would the Minister indicate when his review of the application for sanction of a loan for the sewerage scheme is likely to reach a conclusion? When will the Minister make up his mind about the sewerage scheme? Is it the fact that the Minister has not sixpence to put on a tombstone and he must keep the scheme in the Custom House, and will not admit the facts?

I do not think that is so. The matter is under consideration.

I shall make further inquiry next week about six other schemes.

The Ministers who are not here are not out counting the money anyway—there is none to count —or has the Cabinet resigned?
