asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries what cases are outstanding concerning claims in respect of remuneration payable to recruitment clerical grades in State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will give details in each case.

Details of Claim

Bord Iascaigh Mhara

Revision of salary for Grade III Clerks on the grounds that the present salaries compare unfavourably with those applying in what is generally recognised as good class clerical employment.

The existing scale is £390—£1,109.

The scale claimed is £436—£1,242.

Inland Fisheries Trust

Revision of salary scale for Clerk Typists to the scale of Clerk Typist on Shorthand-Typing duties in the Civil Service.

The existing scale is 146/3—237/- per week.

The scale claimed is 163/—280/-per week.

Dairy Disposal Company, Ltd.

Revision of salary scales for Clerks Grade 2 and Typists in the Condensed Milk Company of Ireland (1928), Ltd. (an associate of the Dairy Disposal Co. Ltd.) on the grounds that work similar to that performed by these officers is more highly paid in other employments.

The existing scales are:—

Clerk Grade 2

£377—£798.

Typist

£338—£567.

The scales claimed are:—

Clerk Grade 2

Maximum of £1,150 with pro rata increases for lower points.

Typist

Maximum of £780 with pro rata increases for lower points.

Revision of salary scales for Executive Assistant Grade I and II on the grounds that the relative salary position of the staffs concerned has considerably worsened by comparison with incomes of similar salaried classes in other employment.

The existing scales are:—

Executive Assistant I

£730—£925.

Executive Assistant II

£445—£730.

The scales claimed are:—

Executive Assistant I

£900—£1,200.

Executive Assistant II

£525—£900.
