Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imported Timber in Dublin Corporation Houses.

15.

(Dublin South-Central) asked the Minister for Local Government if it is a fact that Dublin Corporation architects specify imported timber for use in the erection of corporation houses.

The standard specification for white and red deal used by Dublin Corporation states that the use of suitable native timber is permitted. Their general conditions of contract require the use of Irish materials except where otherwise provided for in the tender. Imported hardwoods are specified for particular limited purposes.
