Vol. 218 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Redundancy Payments Scheme.

39.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce to what extent the redundancy provisions of the manpower policy will be made retrospective.

It is not envisaged that the proposed redundancy payments scheme should have retrospective effect.

In view of the fact that it is not proposed to make it retrospective, will the Parliamentary Secretary give this House an undertaking that the National Manpower Agency will take over the employment service without delay?

I will not give any such undertaking.

More hedging.
