asked the Minister for Finance whether during the past five years any advance was made out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof to the Funds of Suitors; and, if so, if he will give details thereof and the reasons therefor.

No such advance was made.

58.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will furnish details of all payments made to date under the Funds of Suitors Acts, 1959 to 1963.

The following sums have been paid in accordance with section 2 of the Funds of Suitors Act, 1959: £250,000 to the Capital Fund to be applied towards the cost of rebuilding the Abbey Theatre; £3,000 to the Minister for Finance; and £70,000 to the trustees of the Honourable Society of King's Inns.

In accordance with section 2 of the Funds of Suitors Act, 1963, £50,000 has been paid to the Capital Fund to be applied towards the cost of rebuilding the Cork Opera House.
