15.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each Department of State particulars of office accommodation rented or leased since 1st January, 1964; and the amount of rent agreed to be paid in respect of it.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement, which with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

In addition, accommodation for driving test centres for the Department of Local Government was rented by the Commissioners of Public Works as follows:—

An Uaimh, Ballina, Carndonagh, Castlebar, Cork, Donegal, Galway, Gorey, Loughrea, Monaghan, Mullingar, Portlaoise, Skibbereen, Tralee, Tullamore, and Wicklow. In the great majority of these cases, the accommodation consists of a single room.

The total annual rent payable in respect of all the properties listed amounts to about £144,000, of which about £138,000 relates to the properties in Dublin city.
