Vol. 218 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Estate.

31.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to take over the lands on the Chetwood-Aitken Estate, Woodbrook, Portarlington, County Laois; whether these lands will be divided amongst the local applicants during the coming spring, or if it is proposed to set the lands by conacre; and if he will make a statement as to the position of this estate.

Possession of this 340 acre property has not yet passed to the Land Commission but there is hope that this can be arranged early next year. Just now it is not possible to forecast when the scheme of division will be ready. When possession is obtained, normal letting arrangements may have to be made, pending allocation of the lands.
