asked the Taoiseach if he will state the latest particulars of fatal and non-fatal cases reported under the Workmen's Compensation Acts for a recent year in the form of a reply of 4th May, 1961.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the required information in respect of the year 1963, the last for which the data are at present available.

Following is the statement:—

TABLE 1.—Number of cases of fatal and non-fatal accidents in which Workmen's Compensation was paid by Insurance Companies and certain large uninsured employers in 1963 distinguishing nature of case and whether industrial or agricultural, and showing amount of compensation paid.
