Vol. 219 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Corrib-Mask Drainage.

28.

asked the Minister for Finance when he expects work will begin on that portion of the Corrib-Mask drainage scheme (a) between Roscahill and Maam Cross and (b) between Maam Bridge and Cornamona.

An engineering survey has been made and the design and preparation of a scheme is going ahead for the Corrib-Headford section of the Corrib catchment. If all goes well, I hope that actual works can be started in the next financial year. Pending preparation of the formal scheme and its exhibition etc., I cannot say what works in the areas mentioned by the Deputy may be included.
