Vol. 219 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Thomastown (Tipperary) School.

61.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding Thomastown national school, County Tipperary; and if it is likely that building of the new school will commence soon.

Sketch plans have been prepared for a new three-roomed school at Thomastown. My Department will sanction a grant towards the cost of erecting the new school when satisfactory evidence of title to the site has been submitted by the Very Reverend Manager. When the grant has been sanctioned the Commissioners of Public Works will prepare working drawings preparatory to the invitation of tenders.

I am not therefore in a position to say when the building of the new school will commence.
