Vol. 219 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Health Authority Staff Advertisement.

73.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to an advertisement for domestic staff inserted by the Cork Health Authority; and if he approves of the rates of pay and conditions offered.

Mr. O'Malley

The rates of pay advertised by Cork Health Authority on 24th and 25th November, 1965, for domestic staff are within limits approved by me. The fixing of rates of pay is primarily a matter for the health authority, my function being limited to according or withholding my approval.

The advertisement of 24th November, due to a printer's error, gave a wrong figure—£15 1s. Od. per fortnight —for deductions for emoluments. This was corrected to £5 1s. Od. in the advertisement published next day.
