Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - IRA Service Medal.

40

asked the Minister for Defence why a person (name supplied) was rejected for a medal without any verification being requested from his Company Commander; and why he will not now permit any further investigation in view of the fact that his Company Commander certifies he served continuously from 1917 to June 1922.

The case referred to by the Deputy was further investigated and a Service (1917-1921) Medal has been awarded. The medal will be issued to the applicant as soon as possible.
