Vol. 220 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Housing Loans.

28.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is expected that sanction will be granted for the following loans applied for by South Tipperary County Council: (a) 22 rural cottages—£3,200, (b) 63 rural cottages—£2,200, (c) 81 rural cottages —£17,000, (d) 60 rural cottages— £137,000, (e) 55 rural cottages— £120,000 and (f) for the making of advances for the acquisition and erection of houses—£20,000; and if, in view of the considerable time which has elapsed since the making of the earlier of these applications and the urgent need for housing in the area, he will expedite sanction of these loans.

I am not yet in a position to say when sanction to these loans is likely to be issued but I hope that it will be possible to give a decision in the near future.
